Put Some Magic into Your Christmas!

Demure Reads (Sweet Romance)

Christmas Magic, A Christmas Romance Collection (Two Touchstone Series Books) by Beth Barany

As a child, I loved the magic of Christmas: the stockings, the chill in the air, and the delicious food, especially the goodies my parents put in our stockings.

  • Nuts to crack
  • Chocolate
  • Tangerines
  • Toys special to each child

As a young teen, I found Christmas to a perfect to to daydream about meeting that perfect someone.

Now as an adult, I loved to be with extended family, especially my young nephews, hugging my sweetie, enjoying the joy of Christmas and seeing the magic and joy it brings to the little ones.

Here’s hoping my new collection, Christmas Magic, will bring you joy for the holidays.

  • N. N. Light says:

Love your holiday books, Beth! They’ve just been added to my TBR list.

Hmmm, my favorite Christmas tradition… that’s a toughy. My husband and I do so many things. We listen to all of our Christmas CDs starting in August (we have over 100), we watch all of our favorite Christmas specials/movies/television shows (starting in July as we have over 300) and decorate right after Canadian Thanksgiving.

But if I had to choose one tradition I love the most, it’s donating to our local food bank. We save all of our extra change (you know, the coins rolling around in the back of the car and on the bottom of the purse) throughout the year and at the end of the year, we collect it and donate it to our local food pantry. We also budget 20% of our Christmas budget for the food bank. We figure, if we’re going to have the best Christmas ever, those less fortunate should too. 🙂

Happy to be hopping along with you and Happy Holidays!

  • Great post! Thanks for being a part of the hop! 😛

  • Nancy Burgess says:

My favorite tradition is our big Christmas dinner. All the family attends. It a great time to catch up on each other’s lifes. The kids all exchange gifts after dinner and we watch Christmas movies.

  • Shadow Cross says:

On Christmas Eve as a child we all piled into our van and drove from our little town in the central valley to my Grandma’s house in San Jose. We sang Christmas Carols (we had booklets my sister made of the lyrics) all the way there. We had a big family dinner with my extended relatives and then we all opened the presents we got for each other. Then we’d trek home, most of us falling asleep in the car on the way, and all of us kids (4 girls!) would camp out in my oldest sister’s room and fall asleep watching for Santa.
Now that we’re all grown up my mom is Grandma and my sister and her family make the (much shorter) trek across town to our house where we continue the tradition with the next generation.
We also do gingerbread houses and sugar cookies together. It’s big and messy and loud but it’s so fun! And those extra events help to spread Christmas over the whole month of December and really brings our family together.
(Even if I don’t win, your books sound like a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to reading them!)

  • Jane says:

My Christmases are mot the same as the one’s my parents gave us in the UK. I really miss all the british traditions but I have lived in California for over 30 years now and my girls are more accustomed to this way of life so the traditions I am afraid are not here as I have just got out of an ugly marriage and my girls are now young adults but I do hope to start a few of my own very soon. I just love to be around lots of family and I do miss that but seeing my girls expressions when opening gifts are always a delight.

  • Webba Campos says:

I love to make a new ornament for my grandkids each year i try to come up with something new each year

  • Aline F Lewis-Pack says:

My favorite tradition is the first Sunday of December making Christmas cookies with family, mom DIL, granddaughters et giving them away. Keeping hubs favorite
Thank you for the chance great giveaway

  • Cynthia Powers says:

My dad and I drive up to the NC mountains on Black Friday and get a fresh tree. Then, the first weekend of December, my mom and I listen to carols as we decorate it. We also do a big fancy breakfast on Christmas morning after all the presents are opened. Pancakes and pepper bacon…mmm!

  • Kai W. says:

My Christmas tradition is buying all the items (on sale) to prepare Christmas dinner from scratch.

  • Great post! Your holiday traditions sound wonderful and your holiday collection is very special!

  • Jeannie says:

My favorite Christmas Tradition is gathering around together. We take a group picture and just enjoy each other’s company.

  • Casi McLean says:

I love a good Christmas story. What a great post. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas.

  • Rhonda says:

Our only tradition is that we do something different each year for Christmas Dinner. We’ve had everything from grilled steaks to shrimp boil–no turkey or ham allowed! This year we are having homemade hot and sour soup, egg rolls, and vegetable lo mein (if I can find the right kind of noodles). This is definitely something different as I’ve never prepared any of these dishes.

  • Laura says:

Our traditions are changing since the kids have grown and the family moved further apart. I used to love watching home 8mm movies and telling stories about when we were younger.

  • Beth Barany says:
