I missed my flight out of a little French airport about 90 miles north of Paris. I had to spend the night somewhere and then catch my flight to Italy the next day.
Resigned to living with my silly mistake (I forgot to print out an essential travel document!), I took a bus to a little medieval French town nearby, settled into a cheap hotel room, and went for a walk.
I love French cathedrals, so meandered there.
And discovered a strange gargoyle set apart from the odd-shaped cathedral.
And a story was born.
