Mostly change comes gradually; we hardly notice it. But on this day, when Janey got to take a school field trip to the Cassini observatory space station and look at the rings of Saturn through the big telescope, everything changed.
She knew then and there that she would work on the station orbiting Titan so she could study Saturn’s rings all day long. She was nine and could decide for herself what she would be when she grew up.
No one laughed at her, but the teacher did frown and tell her that she’d need to get better at her math.
This is a little backstory for you about Janey McCallister, space station investigator. Her mystery series is coming February 2020.
She didn’t end up being a Saturn scientist, like she’d planned. Like for many of us, her childhood dreams shifted and morphed into new things.
